A mighty wind
Director: Christophe Guest
Writers: Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy
To throw: Bob Balaban, Christopher Guest, John Michael Higgins, Eugene Levy, Jane Lynch, Michael McKean, Catherine O’Hara, Parker Posey, Harry Shearer and Fred Willard
You can know and love Christophe Guest comedies like Best of Show and Waiting for Guffman, but the director’s film of 2003 A mighty wind maybe his best. Now streaming on HBO Max (alongside other excellent guest comedies like Best of Show and For your consideration), the film is set in the aftermath of the death of a fictional folk music producer. Her children put on a concert, bringing together several acts from the past, and tensions erupt as past trauma and broken relationships surface. The film is extremely funny, but also has a tinge of melancholy that makes it Guest’s most touching film.
Director: Michael mann
Writer: Stuart beattie
To throw: Tom Cruise, Jamie Foxx, Jada Pinkett Smith, Mark Ruffalo, Peter Berg, Bruce McGill and Javier Bardem
If you’re in the mood for a crime thriller from a master filmmaker, Collateral is where it is. Michael mannThe 2004 film was one of the first to be shot entirely on digital cameras rather than film, which was crucial to the story’s nocturnal aesthetic. A cat and mouse game ensues, and everything is captured with haunting beauty by Mann as Cruise delivers a truly chilling performance.

If this is a big budget show you’re in the mood for – especially the sci-fi variety – then Creation is your jam. No matter how many times you’ve seen Christophe nolanIt’s Oscar-winning blockbuster, it’s hugely entertaining every time. Leonardo DiCaprio plays a haunted thief named Cobb who is tasked with planting an idea in someone’s mind. Nolan brilliantly visualizes what it is like for this team of criminals to literally go into someone’s head and come down to different levels. This one is a classic.
The suicide squad

You run out of time to catch The suicide squad, which only airs for 31 days until it becomes a movie exclusive. The rebootquel is essentially a totally original story from the mind of guardians of the galaxy director James gunn which has little or no connection with the original Suicide Squad, except to include some of the same characters. Task Force X – a squad of overpowered criminals – is tasked with infiltrating a fictional South American nation on a top-secret mission, in which they are almost certain to perish. We watch this gang of misfits grapple with their worst beings, all under the guise of an R-rated superhero flick. This one is absolutely bonkers and fun, but probably not suitable for kids.

A handful of scientists and paleontologists are invited to visit the park ahead of time, but when the dinosaurs break loose, they literally run for their lives.
